Last time I visited, I somehow ended up writing a poem about our encounter. I’ll blame the red wine for that. This time, I’ll resist the urge to pretend I’m a poet and settle for a few honest words instead.

It’s difficult not to get carried away when talking about Braleyn.

Yes, she’s stunning, but that’s almost the least remarkable thing about her. She’s warm, effortlessly funny, quick-witted, and has a way of making you feel like, for that brief moment, there’s nowhere else she’d rather be. The conversation flows so naturally that you almost forget why you’re there in the first place.

She’s dangerously easy to like. You leave thinking you’ll remember how beautiful she is, but somehow it’s her laugh, the stories she tells, or a throwaway comment she made that keeps finding its way back into your head.

Time disappears with Braleyn. And when it’s over, you don’t find yourself wishing the meeting had been longer. You find yourself wishing the conversation hadn’t had to end.
